Oppo R17 Pro pre-orders in India confirmed to begin on December 1st
“The Oppo R17 Pro India pre-order date has been mentioned on the company’s official site”
OPPO is all set to launch its premium smartphone R17 Pro in India. The device has been advertised on the company’s official website, which also states that pre-orders for the smartphone will begin on Saturday, December 1st. The R17 Pro India launch is slated for December 4th at an event in Mumbai.

Among key talking points of the device is OPPO’s patented Super VOOC Flash Charge technology, which the company claims can charge the device by 40% in just 10 minutes. The Super VOOC Flash Charge standard was globally introduced with the OPPO Find X (first impressions), which caught the headlines with the motorised slider that hid the phone’s front camera and sensors. However, the Indian variant of the Find X only featured the company’s VOOC Flash Charge standard, which has been common in all of OPPO’s premium smartphones in India for a while.
With Super VOOC Flash Charge, OPPO states that the R17 Pro is actually equipped with two 1,850mAh cells in its battery unit, which reduces the voltage of each cell by half, as well as including “five-core protections” to ensure safety of operation while enabling the fast charging standard.

The OPPO R17 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, along with Adreno 616 GPU, 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It is 7.9mm thick, weighs 183g and is available in two shades — Emerald Green and Radiant Mist, a purplish, misty shade that gradually seems to be gaining prominence (even the OnePlus 6T has a new ‘Thunder Purple’ shade). Up front, it features a 6.4-inch display with Full HD+, 1,080 x 2,340-pixel screen resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a waterdrop notch. The rear camera gets a primary, 12MP sensor with f/1.5-2.4 variable aperture lens, and a 20MP secondary sensor with f/2.6 lens. The front camera gets a 25MP sensor with f/2.0 lens. The OPPO R17 Pro runs on ColorOS 5.2, based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
OPPO R17 Pro price in India, of course, will be announced on December 4, although the device’s China price tag leads us to believe that it may be priced at around the Rs 40,000 mark in India.
