Samsung Galaxy A8s camera hole seemingly confirmed by alleged screenshot

“The Samsung Galaxy A8s screenshot shows a gap on the top-right corner, where the Infinity O camera hole will be”

The Samsung Galaxy A8s is probably among the most-hyped upcoming smartphones right now. The mid-range offering was teased by Samsung with a full-screen display and a high screen-to-body ratio without a notch. Moreover, it has been reported that to push the screen closer to the edges, Samsung will be deploying its Infinity O-display that sport a hole at the top-right corner for a selfie camera on the Galaxy A8s. There was no confirmation on this until now. However, an FCC listing has just surfaced online, which in a way confirms that the Galaxy A8s will come with an Infinity O-display.

First spotted by Galaxyclub.nl on FCC, a screenshot that is said to be of Galaxy A8s shows a suspicious gap on the top-left corner, where the status bar appears. Usually, icons in the status bar are placed close to the left edge of the screen, but have been pushed a little to the right in this case. This is being taken as a confirmation of sorts that the Galaxy A8s will have the UI tweaked a little to accommodate the selfie camera hole.

By piercing the display, Samsung is likely to shave the bezels on the top from the Galaxy A8s to give a more immersive viewing experience. Interestingly, the Chaebol is not the only one experimenting with this new technology. Huawei has already showcased its handset with display piercing at a gala event, while Lenovo is reportedly working on such device too. Both the Chinese OEMs are expected to launch their respective device in December.

As for the Galaxy A8s, Samsung will most likely launch the device early next year. The handset is expected to sport a 6.36-inch AMOLED display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. That’s it form our end for now! Stay tuned for more updates.
