Companies like Xiaomi, Motorola, Honor and more recently Nokia and Realme are aggressively expanding their foothold in this segment, and it has become really difficult to pick the best smartphone amidst these. It flaunts a beautiful 6.3-inch LCD display with a waterdrop notch and comes with a layer of Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. The Realme 2 Pro comes with dual rear cameras in the form of the 16MP and 2MP snappers and a 16MP selfie shooter. The phone gets the necessary juice from a 3,500mAh battery. Realme 2 Pro’s base variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage will set you back Rs 13,990, with its high-end model carrying a sticker price of Rs 17,990.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro

Xiaomi smartphones have been crowd favourite, so it’s no surprise to see its offering placed in this list. While earlier the Redmi Note 5 Pro was mentioned in this roundup, now it’s successor, the Redmi Note 6 Pro finds a place. Speaking of specs, the Note 6 Pro comes fitted with a 6.2-inch FHD+ display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chip. On the camera front, the handset sports a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 12MP shooter with f/1.9 aperture and a 5MP sensor. For the first time in the Redmi series, the Redmi Note 6 Pro comes equipped with dual front cameras, comprising 20MP and 2MP snappers. The device is powered by a 4,000mAh battery. The base variant of the Redmi Note 6 Pro is priced at 13,999, while the 6GB RAM version costs Rs 15,999.

Honor 8X

Huawei’s subsidiary Honor has been a great competitor to Xiaomi in the budget segment and its latest offering — the Honor 8X seems promising enough to continue that legacy. The Honor 8X is a large device as it sports a 6.5-inch display with a notch on the top which houses the front camera and the earpiece. This phone is powered by the Huawei Kirin 710 built on 12nm technology. The rear of the device has a glass finish and houses a pair of 20MP and 2MP cameras. For selfies, the device features a 16MP shooter on the front. Powering the phone is a 3,750mAh battery. The base variant of the Honor 8X with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage will cost you Rs 14,999.

ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 6GB

ASUS’ Zenfone Max Pro M1 helped the company gain a foothold in the sub-Rs 15k market. The highlight of the handset is that it’s backed by a massive 5,000mAh battery. Under the hood, the phone comes equipped with the Snapdragon 636 octa-core chipset which works alongside 6GB of RAM. It has a 5.99 inch LCD display with a full HD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Talking of the cameras, the rear panel sports a 16MP primary shooter, which is accompanied by a 5MP depth sensor. For selfies, the handset 8MP selfie shooter. The handset carries a price tag of Rs 14,999, though you can also opt for its affordable variants that come with 3GB / 4GB RAM and starting price of Rs 10,999.

MOTO X4

The Moto X4 is the oldest device in this list as it was launched in November last year. The smartphone probably doesn’t have those thin bezels and that sleek design which you get in phones these days, but it still packs in interesting features. The handset comes with a 5.2-inch LCD panel, which is protected by Gorilla glass 3. That’s not all, the X4 also is IP68 compatible making it dust- and water resistant. The rear of this device has a shiny finish and houses a pair of a 12MP shooter and an 8MP wide-angle sensor. Powered the show is the Snapdragon 630 SoC, which is paired with 3GB, 4GB or 6GB of RAM. A 3,000mAh battery fuels the smartphone. Available across multiple stores, the default variant of the Moto X4 will cost you around Rs 11,000.
