Vivo phone with dual screens appears in live images; could be a NEX model
“The Vivo dual screen smartphone has thin bezels and no notch, suggesting it could be part of the NEX series”
Last week, a report out of China claimed Vivo is working on a dual screen smartphone under the NEX branding. Now, a couple of leaked images showing a smartphone with two display panels and Vivo branding has appeared on Chinese social networking site Weibo. The handset in the images has narrow bezels on the top and no display notch to house the selfie camera, suggesting this could be the second-generation NEX smartphone that the brand is reportedly developing.

The image leaked by the Mobile Phone China verified Weibo account shows a large display with narrow bezels on the sides as well as on the top. The bezels below the screen are relatively thicker. The next image shows a smaller display panel on the back of the phone, with Vivo branding below the screen. Above the display, the dual camera setup is visible, flanked by LED flash and what could be the autofocus module on left and right, respectively. In terms of design, the smartphone has rounded corners and a tall display panel.

Previously, it was reported Vivo will launch a NEX-branded handset with dual screens and taglines such as
More than one side of the future’ and
Extraordinary dual screen’. The report claimed the smartphone will have a 6.4-inch full-HD+ OLED screen, Snapdragon 845 SoC, and 22.5W fast-charging support. It was said to be similar to the nubia X in design but with a higher screen-to-body ratio.
With the leaks coming out in such quick succession, it seems the launch of this Vivo dual screen smartphone is not too far away. This is, of course, just the latest in dual screen smartphone, after the launch of nubia X and the confirmation that the Samsung foldable phone will have two screens. Even the 5G-capable Huawei foldable phone is said to have two touchscreen panels.
