Mi 8 Youth Edition has a 6.26-inch full-HD+ screen, 19:9 aspect ratio, and a notch on top. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 processor and runs Android Oreo-based MIUI 10 software. For security, the Mi 8 Lite features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner but does not have IR face unlock.
On the optics front, the Mi 8 Youth Edition has a dual rear camera system with a 12MP primary sensor and a secondary 5MP lens for depth sensing. On the front side the device houses a 24MP snapper for selfies and video calling needs. It runs on an MIUI skin based on Android 8.1 Oreo and sips juice from a 3350 mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0. On the connectivity front, the smartphone include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0 with LE, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector.
