Airtel Rs 199 recharge revised to offer 1.5GB data per day

“The Rs 199 Airtel recharge provides prepaid subscribers with access to Airtel TV Premium content with original shows”

Airtel has made a change in its existing Rs. 199 recharge by raising the allocated data by 100MB per day. This increases the bundled data with the Rs 199 Airtel recharge from 1.4GB a day to 1.5GB per day, an increase of 2.8GB over the entire validity period. This will help Airtel compete better with the Jio Rs 198 recharge that, despite this increase, offers more data.

As mentioned above, the revised Rs 199 Airtel recharge now offers 1.5GB per day, totalling to 42GB data for the entire 28-day validity period. The recharge pack also offers unlimited local and STD voice calls, free calls while roaming, and 100 SMSes per day. Along with this, the prepaid subscribers purchasing the Rs 199 Airtel recharge will get free access to Airtel TV Premium – which includes original content produced for the telecom operator – for the duration of the validity.

The revised Airtel recharge is identical in terms of benefits to the Rs 199 Vodafone recharge that was recently revised to offer 1.5GB data a day as well as the calling and texting benefits. It also offers users Vodafone Play subscription to stream movies and TV shows online. The corresponding Jio recharge, priced at Rs 198, offers 2GB data per day, free calls and messages and free access to Jio apps for the 28-day validity.

In January, Airtel had revised the Rs 199, Rs 448, and Rs 509 prepaid recharges to increase the bundled data from 1GB per day to 1.4GB per day. The motive, back then as it is now, was to take on the low-cost Jio recharges that gained instant popularity thanks to the data, calling, and content benefits. However, the Rs 448 and Rs 509 Airtel recharges are yet to be revised, so we will have to wait and see if subscribers get the increased benefits for the long-validity packs too.
