Coolpad Cool Play 8, the successor of Cool Play 7C smartphone, has been launched in China. The device is meant for the low-end segment and packs modest specifications, and a price tag to match. The new Coolpad Cool Play 8 is presently available for pre-orders in China, will go on sale on December 21st, and come in only one configuration. The smartphone has been listed in Streamer Ash and Bright Red colours.

 

As the image above shows, the Coolpad Cool Play 8 has a wide notch, thin bezels on the sides, and a rather thick chin, while the bezels on the sides are relatively thinner. The handset has 2.5D curved glass design on both the front and the back. The back panel has vertically stacked dual rear cameras and a fingerprint sensor, both with gold coloured accents. The company’s logo is on the metallic back panel.

The Coolpad Cool Play 8 sports a 6.2-inch display with 1,080 x 2,246 pixel resolution and is powered by Android 8.1 Oreo-based software, according to a report by MobileCryptoTech. The smartphone packs the MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor paired with 4GB RAM and comes with 64GB internal storage. It is further provided with a dedicated microSD slot of up to 128GB capacity in order to expand storage.

In terms of the optics, Coolpad Cool Play 8 has dual sensors on the back, with 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel resolutions, while an 8-megapixel sensor in in the front. To complete the list of specs, the smartphone is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with fast-charging support. It is available in two colour variants – Red and Gray. The Cool Play 8 is available for pre-booking at a price of RMB 999 (around Rs. 10,300) in China.
