Honor 8A Pro images leaked via FCC certification
“The Honor 8A Pro is expected to sport a waterdrop notch and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor”
Several reports in the past have suggested that Honor is planning to add two budget smartphones to its portfolio soon. These devices are rumoured be called the Honor 8A and Honor 8A Pro. Ahead of an official announcement, the Honor 8A was spotted on the Chinese certification agency TENAA’s website with specs and images. Now, the Honor 8A and Honor 8A Pro, both have been certified by Wi-Fi Alliance. In addition, the purported Honor 8A Pro has received the FCC certification, which has revealed the phone’s photos.
Talking about the Honor 8A Pro (JAT-LX3) first, the FCC certification of the device shows the front and rear of the smartphone. It appears that the phone will come with a waterdrop notch above the screen. This should allow the handset to offer higher screen-to-body ratio as compared to its predecessor. The images suggest that the phone will have a unibody design, a single primary camera, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Sadly, no specifications of the device are available at the moment.
As far as the Wi-Fi certification is concerned, several Honor 8A and 8A Pro models including JAT-LX1, JAT-LX3, JAT-L41, JAT-AL00, and JAT-L29 have been certified by Wi-Fi Alliance. The certification doesn’t include many specs of these handsets. However, it does suggest that they will be powered by a MediaTek SoC, boot Android Pie out of the box, and support only 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band.
According to earlier reports, the Honor 8A could feature a 6.08-inch HD+ LCD display. The phone is said to be powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core processor of unknown make, aided by 3GB of RAM. At the rear, the device is tipped to offer a 13-megapixel primary shooter with an LED flash, and on the front, there could be an 8-megapixel selfie snapper. The handset is expected to be equipped with a 2,920mAh battery and come in multiple colour variants, including Blue, Black, Gold, and Red.
Honor hasn’t yet revealed when it is planning to launch the Honor 8A and Honor 8A Pro. However, since the phones have been certified by many regulatory authority agencies, we expect them to be released very soon.
