OnePlus 6T Oxygen OS Open Beta 1 now available

Good news for OnePlus 6T (review) users - they can be part of OnePlus Oxygen OS’s Open Beta program for the smartphone starting today. With this, OnePlus 6T users will get the latest features the company tests for the custom OS earlier than non-beta users. Once the company has received feedback on the new features and ironed out the kinks, they will be released to all users in the form of a stable update. The OnePlus 6T Open Beta 1 update is already available for download but doesn’t bring too many notable features.
With the new OnePlus 6T Open Beta 1 update, you get Android security patch for the month of December and support for migrating data from iPhones. Other features include notifications when parallel apps are unavailable due to data corruption, call history for incoming calls from unknown numbers, and an optimised UI for spam messages and calls.
In order to enrol for OnePlus 6T Oxygen OS beta program, you’ll have to download the ZIP file provided by the company on its forum. The file is 1.6GB in size. It’s worth mentioning that the update is in beta form and, hence, may not be as stable as the stable updates. OnePlus warns that by installing this update, you accept the potential risks.
OnePlus 6T specifications
OnePlus 6T comes with a 6.41-inch AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Recently a 10GB RAM variant of the device with 30W Warp Charging, named OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, was launched. Of course, the standard variant is available in 6GB and 8GB of RAM options. Other specifications include Snapdragon 845 SoC, up to 256GB storage, dual rear cameras, and a 3,700mAh battery. The phone is available in India with a starting price of Rs 37,999.
