Samsung Notebook 9 Pen (2019) laptop with bigger battery, improved S Pen support unveiled

Samsung’s convertible Notebook 9 Pen-series laptop has been refreshed with a 2019 edition. The new laptop now comes with an improved S Pen feature, a bigger battery cell, and slightly better hardware. Other than that, the 2-in-1 Samsung Notebook 9 Pen (2019) laptop comes in two models: 13-inch and 15-inch. Both these options offer almost similar specifications and boot Windows 10 out-of-the-box.

“With improved design and performance, along with our Notebook’s most advanced S Pen yet, the new Notebook 9 Pen is perfect for contemporary professionals who put especially high demands on their technology,” Samsung’s Senior Vice President and Head of PC Business Team YoungGyoo Choi said in a press release.

Samsung hasn’t announced the price yet, but the company says that the Notebook 9 Pen (2019) will be available for sale in South Korea from December 14th and will expand to USA, China, Brazil, and Hong Kong starting in early 2019. The PCs come in two colour options: Ocean Blue and Platinum White, and offers Myscript Nebo app for a free three-month trial.

Samsung’s latest offerings Notebook 9 Pen (2019) don an all-metal and aluminium frame with edge-to-edge diamond cut metal finish. Coming to the specifications, it comes in two options of a 13-inch and a 15-inch LCD touchscreen display with full HD resolution and thin bezels on the sides. The laptop is powered by Intel’s 8th-gen Core i7 processor, accompanied by 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD. As for the graphics, it features an Intel UHD graphics/ Nvidia GeForce MX150 (2GB).

The S Pen that accompanies the laptop has been made better, and as per the company, it offers reduced latency up to 2x that of the older model. A 54Wh battery with fast-charging support fuels the Notebook 9 Pen, that is said to last up to 15 hours with a single charge. Other features include face unlock and a built-in fingerprint sensor for security and ThunderAmp audio technology.

In terms of connectivity, the laptop offers 2x Thunderbolt 3 ports, 1x USB Type-C port, a headphone/mic combo jack, and a UFS/microSD card combo jack. Apart from this, you get 2X2 Wi-Fi 802.11ac, facial recognition, fingerprint recognition, and an HD IR front-facing camera.
