Vivo NEX Dual Screen with triple rear cameras, 10GB of RAM launched: price, specifications
“The NEX Dual Screen is a flagship offering from Vivo with Snapdragon 845 SoC and an in-display fingerprint sensor”
Vivo has brought forth its second-generation NEX series smartphone in China. Dubbed as the Vivo NEX Dual Screen, the handset is merely an incremental upgrade over its predecessor, with a secondary screen thrown in to maximise the screen size of the front panel. The fascia of the device is dominated by a notch- and bezel-less display, just like its predecessor Vivo NEX. Moving on, it now has a secondary display, triple-rear camera setup, in-display fingerprint sensor, and 10GB of RAM.

Vivo NEX Dual Screen price
The Vivo NEX Dual Screen has been priced in China at RMB 4,998 (about Rs 53,000); this model comes in only one configuration, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. It will be up for grabs in two colour options: Ice Blue and Star Purple. The handset will start shipping to buyers from December 29th onwards. Unfortunately, the company hasn’t announced its plan as to when it’s planning to bring the device to India.

Vivo NEX Dual Screen specifications
Coming to the specifications, the NEX Dual Screen, obviously, comes with two display panels. The primary display on the front is 6.39-inch AMOLED screen with full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,340 pixel) resolution and in-display fingerprint sensor, while the rear-mounted display is slightly smaller at 5.49-inch, with thick bezels all around and full-HD (1,080 x 1,920 pixel) resolution. The secondary display works independently and can be used for playing games or clicking selfies from the rear-mounted cameras.

Unlike its predecessor, the NEX Dual Screen doesn’t have a retractable selfie camera; instead, the triple camera module on the back panel is all you get. The primary sensor has 12-megapixel resolution, while the secondary night vision sensor has 2-megapixel resolution. The third sensor is a ToF 3D camera lens that will used to accurately detect the edges of the subject that’s on the frames as well as for 3D facial recognition. The primary camera has f/1.79 aperture, 1/2.56-inch Dual Pixel sensor, and 4-axis OIS. The night vision and TOF cameras have f/1.8 and f/1.3 apertures, respectively. The circular LED Lunar Ring on the back is used to illuminate the face while taking selfies as well as to recognise faces accurately under lowlight conditions.
On the performance front, the NEX Dual Screen uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, paired with an impressive 10GB of RAM and 128GB storage. The handset also comes with Vivo’s Turbo technology, which as far as we understand will improve gaming performance. Apart from this, it runs Android 9 Pie-based FunTouchOS out of the box and comes with the company’s Jovi digital assistant. There is a 3,500mAh battery with 22.5W fast-charging support. Connectivity options on the new NEX device are standard, which is dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB Type-C 2.0.
