“The budget Redmi Note 7 is the most affordable smartphone with a 48-megapixel camera out there”
Xiaomi’s affordable Redmi brand – which is now an independent entity – announced its first offering, the Redmi Note 7, in China. The company has missed out on a generation and announced Redmi Note 7 as the successor to the Redmi Note 5. The major highlights of the phone include the whopping 48-megapixel camera, an edge-to-edge screen, a mid-range chipset, and a glass back with gradient design.

Redmi Note 7 price
The Redmi Note 7 has been priced at RMB 999 (~Rs 10,000) for the base 3GB + 32GB variant in China. The 4GB+64GB and 6GB+64GB options cost RMB 1,199 (~Rs 12,000) and RMB 1,399 (~Rs 14,999), respectively. Interested folks can grab the device from three colour options — Twilight Gold, Fantasy Blue, and Bright Black.
Redmi Note 7 specifications

The biggest USP of the Redmi Note 7 is its dual rear camera setup that comprises the latest 48-megapixel (f/1.8) primary shooter, paired with a 5-megapixel depth-sensing sensor and LED flash. The cameras also boast pixel-binning tech and AI for better shots. As for the selfies, the handset relies on a 13-megapixel sensor housed at the tiny cut-out atop the display.
Moving on, the Redmi Note 7 packs a 6.3-inch display with a waterdrop-style notch up top and Full HD+ resolution. The screen is guarded by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and has visibly thin bezels. The handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 chipset, paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB expandable storage. It boots on a rather dated Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9 out of the box. The entire setup is fuelled by a beefy 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
The Redmi Note 7’s other features include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type C, and connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, IR Blaster, and GPS.
