Sony Xperia XA3, Xperia XA3 Ultra might have visited a Bluetooth certification site; launch likely at MWC 2019
“The next-gen Xperia XA-series smartphones are expected to come with 18:9 aspect ratio display”
Sony‘s upcoming mid-range smartphones Xperia XA3 and Xperia XA3 Ultra have been doing the rounds of the internet quite a bit lately. They were expected to be unveiled at the CES 2019 in Las Vegas, but the trade show came and went. Now, the two offerings seem to have paid a visit to a Bluetooth certification site with model numbers l14113 and l14213. If you recall, these are the same model numbers that were spotted on the EEC website last month and were associated with the next-gen Xperia XA-series.

The Bluetooth certification hasn’t revealed much about the devices, except that they’ll feature Bluetooth v5.0. However, apart from the aforementioned model numbers, there were other Sony devices listed whose identity remains unknown. The handsets are likely to make their debut alongside the Xperia XA3 and Xperia XA3 Ultra.

As a successor to the last year’s Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra, the handsets are expected to come with a slew of upgrades, including an 18:9 aspect ratio display instead of 16:9 aspect ratio panel. Furthermore, the Xperia XA3s have been tipped to rock Snapdragon 660 chipset, accompanied by 6GB of RAM. Other specifications such as display size, camera specifications, battery, and OS are unknown at the moment.
Sony is yet to confirm if and when it’s planning to launch the devices, but rumours are that it could happen next month at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 in Barcelona, Spain. Other than the Xperia XA3 and XA3 Ultra, Sony could also introduce the alleged Xperia L3 smartphone. There’s is little to no information available about the offering currently, but what we do know is that it’s going to be the most affordable handset in the lot.
