Vivo NEX gets a price cut in India; now retails for Rs 39,990

Vivo has announced a price drop on its flagship offering – Vivo NEX (review) – in India. The handset will now retail for Rs 39,990, down from its original price of Rs 44,990. The new price is effective in both online and offline retail stores. This is the first price cut for the device, and it comes following the launch of its successor the Vivo NEX Dual Screen smartphone in China. The handset comes with the same set of specifications as the first-gen NEX device with the only notable difference being the secondary-rear mounted display. The India launch of the handset is yet to be announced.

To recall the specifications of the Vivo NEX, it’s among the first devices to come with a notch- and bezel-less display. The handset sports a 6.59-inch Ultra FullView screen with FHD+ resolution and a screen-to-body ratio of 91.24 percent. The phone also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor. At its core lies Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, accompanied by 8GB of RAM and 128GB native storage with support for a microSD card.
In the camera department, the Vivo NEX features a 12-megapixel primary camera backed by a 5-megapixel secondary shooter and LED flash. For selfies, it gets an 8-megapixel shooter that retracts from the top-edge using a motorised technique. The Vivo NEX boots Android 8.1 Oreo and is powered by a 4,000mAh battery. Other features include a Jovi assistant and connectivity options like 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type C, and GPS/ GLONASS. Lastly, the Vivo NEX comes in just one colour option, which is Black.
