“A continuing collaboration of HTC with Sprint unveils a broader concept of a smartphone.”

After a long time, HTC on a continuing collaboration with Sprint has launched s 5G Hub-tablet hybrid at MWC 2019. It is a combination of a hub and a tablet, where hub offers connectivity and the 5-inch built-in Android tablet lets users access quick controls, along with other features.

In terms of efficiency of hotspot connections, it can handle 20 users watching high-quality videos, playing games and many more activities simultaneously. The incorporation of hub builds a platform for faster connections of existing networks with 5G connections.

The large 5-inch display runs on the Android 9 Pie (Android Go version), which delivers a tablet experience. The device is based upon Snapdragon 855 CPU that support multi-gigabit 5G, advances in AI processing and graphics processes, which eases all your tasks. The processor will also support Wi-Fi 6 (also known as 802.11ax), which aims at delivering faster speeds of up to 2.3Gbps. It relies on inbuilt X50 5G modem configured with 4GB RAM and 32GB ROM that allows quick transfer of data on external card slot, expandable up to 2TB, without any delay.

The HTC 5G Hub arrives with a battery capacity of 7,660mAh, which can also be used to share power when required. It can last a day when used only as a connecting hub serving a few people and keeping the screen off. Due to unavailability of 5G networks, HTC has not yet assessed the standby time over 5G connections.

There’s no word on pricing yet, but the device is expected to become available within six months.
