“Check your Voter ID details such as EPIC number, Polling Station, Date of the election, and Parliamentary constituency

The largest democracy of the world India will be holding its general election 2019 from April 11th onwards. The elections will take place in seven phases, and polling dates for every constituency are out. It’s time you pull your Voter ID card from the closet, dust it off, and get ready to vote. However, before you head out, make sure to check voter ID card details. Below are the steps to do that. Additionally, you can use the method to check the validity of your Voter ID card (if you have been getting the calls that it has been cancelled).

How to check Voter ID card details:

ECI

  1. To check Voter ID card details, head to Election commission of India’s website (www.nvsp.in). Click on the ‘Select Your Name in Electoral Roll’. You will be redirected to a form that will ask you a handful of details such as name, date of birth, state, district, and constituency. You can either take that option or click on the ‘Search by EPIC number’ for quick results.

ECI2. After you’ve filled the details and clicked on ‘Search’, the follow-up screen will show the Voter ID cards details, including EPIC number, Polling Station, Polling Date, and Parliamentary constituency.

3. Election Commission of India also has its app where a user can check voter ID card details. For that, head over to Play Store/ App Store and download ‘Voter Helpline’ app. Just as the case with the browser, tap on ‘Select Your Name in Electoral Roll’ (users can ‘Search by EPIC number’) and quickly fill in the details. Tap on ‘Search’ to see the details. Notably, the result from the app doesn’t show you Polling date.

Correction or modifications to the Voter ID card have now been closed. However, the addition of name in voter ID list will continue until the last date of nomination — request should be made at least 10 days before the nomination ends though.
