Facebook rolls out new feature that lets users share events in Stories
“Interested users can also message in groups to collaborate with other interested goers to the event.”
Facebook has added a new feature to let users share events on their Stories. It seems like Facebook wants to make an easier way to mingle with friends before the events start. The new feature has already started to roll out globally. Facebook has rolled out this feature after a successful trial in the US, Mexico and Brazil. Users now can get a new option to ‘Share to Your Story’ while visiting an event’s page on Facebook.
The Story format has also an ‘Interested’ button for those who can see the event appearing on their feed in the same format. Apart from this, there is another option to send a ‘group message’ to all the users who want to attend the event.
The newest feature is reportedly made for targeting young users on Facebook. Last year, the social networking site’s user growth was gradually decreasing and according to a report, a large portion of younger users was started to migrate to other social platforms like Instagram and Snapchat.
In earlier February it had announced new features for its ‘Groups’ that help the admins to manage their groups better in a simpler way. They can now access new post formatting tools, which helps the admins to inform a member when they violate a rule, filter by dates and search through membership requests by the names.
Facebook’s F8 annual conference is also going to take place in the coming months. The registration is now open and the event will take place in San Jose, CA from April 30th to May 1st. The website for the events is majorly filled up with “new features and updates” for Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and more.
