Amazon Pay introduces peer-to-peer transactions through UPI

“Amazon Pay UPI now lets users send or request payments directly from the Amazon Mshop app.”

Amazon’s digital payment service – Amazon Pay has now introduced person-to-person transactions for Android through Unified Payments Interface (UPI). This will allow users to make instant bank-to-bank transfers, settle bills, pay for services, and more. Customers can also make payments from their bank account to local stores or Amazon delivery executives by scanning UPI QR codes using the Amazon app.

Amazon Pay can now send or request payments directly from the Amazon Mshop app. Users can initiate payments by simply tapping on the contact from phonebook, and it also displays recent transactions making it easier to repeat previous payments. If the contact is not registered to Amazon Pay UPI, users have the option to pay using any another BHIM UPI ID or contact’s bank account.

Users will have to authenticate the transaction with UPI PIN, and all the e-commerce giant claims all the P2P payments are secured through multi-factor authentication involving customer’s phone, SIM details, and UPI PIN. As a part of the introductory offer, customers can get up to Rs 120 cashback on Sending Money through UPI.
