Foldable Motorola RAZR leaks again; might be launching soon
“Motorola has an interesting take on the foldable phone and it will be exciting to see the product now that the Galaxy Fold has been delayed”
Motorola has emerged as the closest competitor to Samsung and Huawei in the foldable smartphone game. It’s been rumoured since last year that the Lenovo-owned iconic brand will unveil a handset with a bendable display sometime this year with a reboot of the Motorola RAZR series. Also, previous leaks have hinted that its design would be a departure from what Samsung or Huawei have been doing up till now. Today we have a closer look at that design with a leaked render.
As can be seen in these official-looking renders, Motorola might have opted for a candy bar form factor with a supposed 6.2-inch display sporting a 22:9 aspect ratio and a rather chunky noticeable bottom bezel. So, when the top half bends completely, it will be level with the bulge at the bottom. The notch above is also visible and houses the in-ear speaker. While the renders are low on resolution, the bottom chin seemingly integrates a speaker, which should work in tandem with the earpiece. Flipping the v to its outside, there’s a secondary display which isn’t very visible in this render. This is supposed to serve functions of quick interaction.
Also noteworthy is the absence of any kind of camera on the rear. This might be because of the image quality as there’s no way any company would skip a camera on a 2019 smartphone. Some publications report that a rear camera exists and will do double duty as a front snapper as well. Some accessories of the handset can also be seen along with the packaging in the leaked renders. However, the Motorola RAZR is likely to skip the headphone jack. There’s still no official launch date for the Motorola RAZR yet but we’re expecting a launch in mid-2019.
