[Computex 2019] Dell introduces G3 15, Alienware m15, and m17 gaming laptops along with gaming headset

Dell has unveiled an updated version of its gaming laptops G3 15, Alienware m15, and m17 at the ongoing Computex 2019 event in Taiwan. The refreshed machines, the Alienware m15 and m17 in particular, are touted to have Dell’s new “Legend” design, which was introduced with Area-51m laptop earlier this year at CES 2019. The Dell G3 15, on the other hand, is now accompanied by a new Game Shift feature that is said to boost the performance. All the three laptops also come with the latest processors from Intel and NVIDIA GeForce GPUs.
Dell Alienware m15, m17 specifications

The new Alienware m15 and m17 gaming laptops are said to be the “thinnest 15-inch and 17-inch gaming laptops to date.” The machines weigh 2.1kg and 2.6kg respectively. The Alienware m15 sports a 15-inch display whereas its elder sibling M17 has a 17-inch screen. The panels are Full HD LCD/ 4K OLED, depending upon the model you choose, with a refresh rate of up to 244Hz. The laptops are powered by an optional 9th gen Intel Core mobile and NVIDIA 16 series processors. The processors are paired with up to 16GB of DDR4-2666 RAM and up to 4TB of NVMe storage.
To further boost their performance, the m15 and m17 gaming laptops have 6-phase digital VRM for the CPU, as well as a separate 8-phase digital VRM setup just for the GPU. Dell is touting its new VRMs as ‘hyper-efficient.’ The laptops also boast of Alienware Cyro-Tech 3.0 a thick copper and zinc alloy heat pipes for thermal throttling. Connectivity options include 1 Gigabit or 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet by Killer, 802.11ac Wi-Fi with Bluetooth 4.2, Thunderbolt 3, USB 3.1 Gen 1, HDMI 2.0, mDP, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The entire setup is run by 76Wh batteries.
The Dell Alienware m15 and Alienware m17 will be available for sale in the US from June 11th onwards at a starting price of $1,499 (~Rs 1,45,000).
Dell G3 15 specifications

The Dell G3 15, meanwhile, also boasts of latest Intel and GeForce processors. It is paired with up to 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD storage. The laptop features a 15-inch display with narrow borders and optional 144Hz refresh rate. The panel is touted to have an “innovative” Eyesafe display that is said to reduce blue light emissions while maintaining colour accuracy. The machine also has 4-zone RGB backlit keyboard and a new S-curve design to accommodate larger component ports near the back. In terms of connectivity, there are USB 3.1, USB Type-C (DisplayPort), 2X USB 2.0, HDMI 2.0, RJ45, SD Card slot, wedge lock slot, and headphone jack.
The Dell G3 15 price is set at $799 for the entry-level variant. The laptop goes for the sale from May 28th in the US.
Dell Alienware 7.1 Gaming Headset, Stereo Gaming Headset

Apart from the laptops, Dell also introduced its Alienware gaming headsets. They are being dubbed as Alienware 7.1 Gaming Headset and Alienware Stereo Gaming Headset. Both the headphones come with 50mm “high resolution” drivers that have been tuned for “amazing” audio clarity. “The specially sculpted, deeper audio chambers amplify the resonance and the memory foam ear pads provide a high level of noise isolation,” the company said. The accessories also feature retractable boom microphone, fabric and memory foam for the deeper acoustic chamber, and leather headband.
The new Alienware headsets will be available in the US starting from July 31st. While the Alienware Stereo Gaming headset has been priced at $79 (~Rs 5,500), the Alienware 7.1 Gaming Headset at $99 (~Rs 7,000).
