Smaller Galaxy Note 10 tipped to feature a 3,400mAh battery
“The Galaxy Note 10 could finally have two models this year with the smaller model at a more pocket-friendly price”
It’s been known for a while that Samsung has been working on multiple models of the Galaxy Note 10. It’s the first time that we’re expecting more than one model in the series. There are two model numbers – SM-N970 and SM-N975 – the former is believed to be a regular Note 10 and the latter to be a Note 10 Pro. But new battery information received by Galaxyclub today suggests SM-N970 could indicate that the regular Galaxy Note 10 variant could actually be a counterpart of the Galaxy S10e for the Note series, Galaxy Note10e if you may.
The source has learnt that the battery capacity of SM-N970 will be 3400mAh. Now, that is a big drop from the Galaxy Note 9’s 4,000mAh battery but that does not necessarily mean that the handset will be a Note 10e equivalent. That’s because a similar-sized battery is inside the Galaxy S10 too. Such a decrease in battery size might not go well with customers but it makes a lot of sense when the rumoured screen size is put into perspective. The smaller Note 10 model is thought to have a 6.28-inch screen, which will expectedly be less power hungry than the massive 6.75-inch panel on the bigger model. Also, unlike the Galaxy S10, Samsung will have to accommodate the S-Pen inside which could have made the task more difficult.
Regardless, Galaxy Note 10 is set to be one of the smallest Galaxy Note models one has seen in generations. As for the bigger Galaxy Note 10 Pro, it’s massive display warrants a bigger 4,500mAh battery. Samsung has put a similar sized battery in the Galaxy S10 5G which has almost the same footprint so this seems likely. However, the smaller model may have a triple camera setup while the Galaxy Note 10 Pro is believed to have a quad-camera module placed similarly as the Huawei P30 Pro. The Galaxy Note 10’s smaller screen and the battery will definitely lead to a more pocket-friendly price tag as well. But it is yet to be seen if Samsung will make more sacrifices in the specifications department with the model.
