Numerous instances of Xiaomi phones catching fire or exploding have been reported in the media in the past. In a recent incident, an alleged Redmi Note 11T Pro aka the Redmi K50i (in India) has exploded, this time in China. Fortunately, no one appears to have been hurt though the device has been completely damaged beyond repair. The short video clip (posted on TikTok via Twitter) shows the state of the burnt Redmi Note 11T Pro.

The video shows the display is completely shattered. The explosion appears to have happened on the back panel near the battery. We can see the back panel separating from the screen and the battery popping out. The reasons behind the Redmi Note 11T Pro catching fire are undetermined at the moment, and the company has not yet commented on the same.

Another Xiaomi phone exploded

Alleged Redmi Note 11T Pro has exploded in China. The video clip posted shows the phone has been damaged completely and the blast appears to have happened around the battery area. The back panel and the main screen are separated and it doesn’t appear the phone can be repaired. Luckily, no one seems to be hurt because of the blast at the moment. The source of the video clip is also unknown at the moment, but was shared on Twitter via a user named Piyush Bhasarkar (@TechKard).

Moving to cameras, the Redmi Note 11T Pro has triple cameras on the back, with a 64MP primary Samsung GW1 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. There is a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats.

There is a 5080mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging support. The Redmi Note 11T Pro is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, a 3.5mm audio jack, Hi-Res audio, Dolby Atmos, stereo speakers, and a USB Type-C port. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.
