Apple debuted the iPhone 14 series at its hardware event earlier this week. Post the announcement it has officially slashed the prices of the iPhone 13 and iPhone 12, making them affordable for interested customers in the country. However, it isn’t all good news as the Cupertino giant has silently increased the price of its compact phone, the iPhone SE 2022. This model has seen a price hike of Rs 6,000 for the base model. To recall, the iPhone SE 2022 was launched in India for Rs 43,900 earlier this year.

The new price hike comes just days after the iPhone 14 series launch, which starts at Rs 79,900 for the standard version. While the brand hasn’t mentioned the reason behind the price hike but we can speculate it could be because of the rupee and US dollar conversion. Additionally, there’s a rise in the price of components and logistics.

iPhone SE 2022 specifications

The iPhone SE 2022 sports a smaller 4.7-inch HD display with TrueTone, 750 x 1334 pixels (HD) resolution, HDR10 support, and ceramic shield protection. It is powered by the latest A15 Bionic 5nm chip with 64-bit architecture, 4‑core GPU, and 16‑core Neural Engine. The iPhone SE 3 comes in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage variants.

The iPhone SE 2022 comes with a single 12MP primary rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, backed by a LED flash. It supports features like 4K 60fps video recording, Deep Fusion, night mode, cinematic video recording, and portrait mode. There is a 7MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats.

There is support for 20W fast charging and Qi wireless charging (not MagSafe) on the handset. Connectivity options include 5G (sub‑6GHz), Gigabit-class LTE, Wi‑Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, Ultra-Wideband chip for spatial awareness, NFC, GPS with GLONASS, and a Lightning port.
