Alleged iPhone 15 Pro live image seemingly confirms USB Type-C port

Apple is reportedly launching new iPhones around September 12th or 13th. The speculated date is in line with Apple’s annual iPhone event that takes place in September. There have already been a bunch of leaks and reports on what new Apple has planned for the iPhone 15 lineup. Now, a couple of images have leaked online that are supposedly of the iPhone 15 Pro with the key changes that have been rumoured so far. 

iPhone 15 Pro dummy unit spotted online

Images of an alleged iPhone 15 Pro model were shared by tipster Ice Universe on Twitter. Here, the iPhone’s back design, side and bottom panels are visible. We can clearly see that the device has a USB-C port, one major change that has been rumoured for the iPhone 15 Pro. Multiple reports and leaks have suggested that Apple will move to USB Type-C on iPhones starting with the iPhone 15 series.

The images also show a physical SIM tray, and what looks like the rumoured ‘Action’ button. This suggests that Apple will continue offering the SIM tray for iPhones selling outside the US. With the iPhone 14 series, Apple made only eSIM-compatible ones for the US market. The Action button is said to replace the mute switch, and it will come with customisable features. 

Otherwise, the design of the iPhone 15 Pro still looks the same as the iPhone 14 Pro. The camera module is the same, and the speaker grille is also at the bottom. We don’t see the front design here but it’s most likely going to feature the Dynamic Island that Apple introduced on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. The tipster suggests that these images could be of a dummy model but it isn’t confirmed though so it might just not be the final design for the iPhone 15 Pro.

Joining the iPhone 15 Pro would be the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro Max. In addition to the upgrades mentioned above, the iPhone 15 Pro modes are also expected to come with titanium frames with smaller bezels. With the iPhone 15 launch expected to take place on September 12th or 13th, the first sale is said to start on September 22nd.
