Vivo X100, X100 Pro will launch before this year-end, confirms company

Chinese smartphone brand Vivo’s next flagship series, the Vivo X100 lineup, is in the making and the company has spoken about its launch timeline for the first time. The X100 series, as per convention, should feature three phones – X100, X100 Pro, and X100 Pro+.

At an event, Vivo Global President, Shen Wei, confirmed that the Vivo X100 and the Vivo X100 Pro would be launched in China by the end of the year (unconfirmed, but most likely in November). However, the top-end model, the Vivo X100 Pro+, will be unveiled next year. The executive did not reveal the exact launch timeline of this model, but we can expect it to be launched in the first quarter of 2024. During the same event, the Global President promised more than 130 Vivo supporters that every participant would be given the eagerly awaited X100 Pro as a gift.

The predecessor to the X100 series, the Vivo X90 lineup, launched in February this year but made it to India much later. We can expect the same for the Vivo X100 India launch.

On the other hand, reports say that the Vivo X Fold 3 foldable is set to be unveiled in the first quarter of the upcoming year.

Vivo X100 Pro specifications (expected)

• A recent report indicated that the Vivo X100 Pro will likely come with a curved-edge OLED display, boasting a resolution of 1.5K, along with a 120Hz refresh rate.
• The Vivo X100 Pro will house a triple camera setup on the rear.
• This setup is expected to include a 1-inch primary camera, which potentially could be a 50MP module, alongside a 64MP OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto lens.
• There might be a 12MP IMX663 ultra-wide-angle lens as well.
• The Vivo X100 Pro will likely be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset.

It should be noted that, currently, the specs are based on leaks and speculations, and the official specifications of the phone will be revealed after the company’s official announcement. Also, it is unsure if the Vivo X100 Pro+ will arrive in India or not, as with the X90 series, the company only unveiled the X90 and X90 Pro in India.
