Phones launched this week: Samsung Galaxy M55 5G, Tecno POVA 6 Pro, and more
March has been a busy month with over 20 new smartphone launches globally and in India. Even in the last week, there were a few new devices from brands like Samsung and Vivo. We saw the first foldable smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset from Vivo, and then POCO launched a budget smartphone in India.
Let’s take a look at some of the new smartphone launches this week.
POCO C61
- Display: POCO C61 features a 6.71-inch 90Hz HD+ display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection and up to 500 nits peak brightness.
- Processor: The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek G36 processor.
- RAM and storage: It packs 12GB of RAM (6GB virtual RAM) and 128GB of internal storage.
- Cameras: The smartphone houses an 8MP AI dual rear camera setup and a 5MP front shooter for selfies.
- Battery, charging: The POCO C61 packs a 5,000mAh battery with Type-C charging.
- Price: It is priced at Rs 7,499 for the 4GB+64GB variant and Rs 8,499 for the 6GB+128GB variant.
Vivo X Fold 3, X Fold 3 Pro
- Display: The Vivo X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro feature an 8.03-inch 2K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 6.53-inch AMOLED 120Hz cover display.
- Processor: The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, while the Vivo X Fold 3 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
- RAM and storage: Both phones come with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS4.0 storage.
- Cameras: The Vivo V30 Pro features a 50MP OIS main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP portrait camera. The Pro variant has a 50MP Ultra Sensing OIS main camera, a 64MP 3x telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens, along with a V3 Imaging Chip. Both phones have the same 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
- Battery, charging: The Vivo X Fold 3 packs a 5,500mAh battery with 80W fast charging. The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is equipped with a slightly bigger 5,700mAh battery with 100W flash charging and 50W wireless flash charging.
- Price: Vivo X Fold 3 is priced at CNY 6,999 (approx Rs 80,677) for the base model, while the Pro variant has a starting price of CNY 9,999 (approx Rs 115,260).
Vivo V40 SE 5G
- Display: The Vivo V40 SE 5G features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1200 nits brightness and up to 1800 nits HDR brightness.
- Processor: The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC.
- RAM and storage: It comes with 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 internal storage.
- Cameras: The Vivo V40 SE features a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP auxiliary sensor at the back. Up front, there’s a 16MP front camera.
- Battery, charging: The phone packs a 5000mAh battery with 44W fast charging support.
- Price: Vivo is yet to reveal the pricing details of the V40 SE.
Samsung Galaxy M55 5G
- Display: Samsung Galaxy M55 5G features a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED Plus display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,000 nits peak brightness.
- Processor: Under the hood of the phone runs the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset.
- RAM and storage: The phone comes in a single 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant.
- Cameras: It has a triple camera setup at the back featuring a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. For selfies, you get a 50MP front camera on the Galaxy M55 5G.
- Battery, charging: The Galaxy M55 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.
- Price: The Galaxy M55 5G is priced at BZR 2,699 which rounds off to around Rs 45,000. It’s confirmed to launch in India soon.
Tecno POVA 6 Pro
- Display: Tecno POVA 6 Pro features a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
- Processor: The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6080 processor paired with Mali-G57 GPU.
- RAM and storage: It comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage along with a microSD card for further storage expansion, and up to 12GB of virtual RAM.
- Cameras: Tecno POVA 6 Pro houses a 108MP primary camera with LED flash, a 2MP secondary sensor and an AI lens. For selfies, you get a 32MP front camera.
- Battery, charging: The smartphone packs a 6,000mAh battery with 70W fast charging support.
- Price: Tecno POVA 6 Pro is priced at Rs 19,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant, and Rs 21,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant.
