LG V35 ThinQ with 6-inch 18:9 OLED display and Snapdragon 845 SoC goes official
“The LG V35 ThinQ comes with a pair of 16MP cameras on the rear panel with advanced AI features”
South Korean giant LG today quietly launched its next-generation V-series smartphone – LG V35 ThinQ. Earlier, there were rumours that the handset could be an AT&T exclusive and there would be another device called LG V40 ThinQ for the global market. However, now the brand has put all speculations to rest and announced that the LG V35 ThinQ will be coming to the States first and then roll out to other markets across the globe.
The LG V35 ThinQ comes with a 6-inch OLED FullVision display flaunting an 18:9 aspect ratio and QHD+ (2,880 x 1,440 pixels) resolution. It’s interesting to see that while the smartphone retains few key specs from its flagship sibling – LG G7 ThinQ, it doesn’t embrace the notch. The display is further protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. Speaking of durability, the newest flagship flaunts IP67 rating and passed 14 of the US military’s MIL-STD 810G tests. The LG V35 ThinQ is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 mated to 6GB of RAM. As for the storage, the smartphone comes in two variants – 64GB and 128GB. For security, it gets the same rear-mounted fingerprint scanner that doubles up as the power button.
In the optics department, the LG V35 ThinQ comes with a pair of 16MP shooters on the rear panel in standard and Super Wide Angle configuration. The camera module comes with integrated AI features like 19 shooting modes, portrait mode, live photo, AR stickers and Super Bright Camera for low-light imaging. For selfies and video calling, the LG V35 ThinQ offers an 8MP shooter. Out of the box, the flagship smartphone boots Android 8.0 Oreo with integrated Google Lens and Google Daydream. Powering the handset is a 3,300mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0 and wireless charging. As for connectivity, the handset offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and USB Type-C.
LG is offering the V35 ThinQ in two hues – Aurora Black and Platinum Gray. The brand has not yet revealed the pricing, but the smartphone will land in the U.S. in June, followed by limited markets in Asia, Middle East, and Africa. We will bring you the pricing details when LG announces it, so stay tuned.
