Xiaomi Mi 8 with display notch spotted in live hands-on image ahead of the launch

It’s now no news that Xiaomi is all set to launch the Xiaomi Mi 8, Mi Band 3 and possibly few more products at its 2018 Annual Product Launch Event to be held in Shenzhen on May 31st. Ahead of the launch event, the special 8th-anniversary edition Xiaomi Mi 8 has already been part of numerous leaks in the recent past. Now, a day ahead of the launch, alleged hands-on images of the Xiaomi Mi 8 have been spotted on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo.

In the newest leaked images, the handset can be seen with a plastic protective layer on top of the display listing some of the key specs. The specs reveal that the upcoming flagship will come powered by the high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with dedicated AI Engine. The front camera of the handset is shown to be a 20-megapixel shooter with features like AI zoom and facial recognition. An interesting revelation comes in the form of the third pointer, which says that the Xiaomi Mi 8 will be the first smartphone to come with dual GPS for exact positioning. In the leaked image we can also see the wide display notch on the top, however, the 3D face recognition module is not clearly visible.
