[Exclusive]: New Honor 9i to launch as the Honor 9X in India in July for around Rs 15,000

Earlier this month, Honor launched the new variant of the Honor 9i in its home market of China. The phone arrived as a mid-range offering with a notch display and a dual primary camera setup at the rear. Now the company is all set to launch the new Honor 9i in the Indian market. 91mobiles has learned from its sources that Honor is planning to release the new Honor 9i as the Honor 9X in the country.

As per our sources, Honor will be holding an event in India during mid-July to launch the Honor 9X in the country. The phone will be priced around Rs 15,000. The company is expected to send out invites for the product launch event of the 9X in the coming days. The specs of the smartphone are expected to be the same as the 9i. 

To recap, the new Honor 9i sports a 5.84-inch display with full HD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The phone has a 13MP + 2MP dual camera setup at the back with phase detection autofocus and a portrait mode. On the front, the device gets a 16MP shooter with artificial intelligence features. The handset is fuelled by an octa-core Kirin 659 processor, and features Android Oreo with EMUI 8.0 on top. The phone comes in several RAM and storage configurations 4GB + 32GB, 4GB + 64GB, and 4GB + 128GB. A 3,000mAh battery completes the list of the specifications of the handset.

The new Honor 9i comes in Charm Blue, Dream Purple, and Magic Night Black hues, but there’s no word which colour variants of the device will be available in the country.
