Acer Predator Helios 500 gaming laptop with 4k display goes official, price starts at Rs 1,99,999

Acer, today, announced its latest Predator Helios 500 gaming laptop in India. The company first introduced it at its next@acer global press conference in May 2018. The laptop has now gone for sale in the country with features like Intel Core i7/i9 processor, Nvidia GeForce 8GB graphics, VR-ready performance, advanced thermal technologies, fast connectivity, and more.

Acer calls its Predator Helios 500 laptop a “gaming beast”. It comes in two variants, one with an 8th generation Intel Core i9-8950HK and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 8GB graphics and the other with AMD Ryzen 7 2700 and AMD Vega 56 graphics options. The notebook sports a 4K Ultra-HD or full-HD IPS 17.3-inch display with 144Hz refresh rates. The laptop employs Intel Optane memory, NVMePCIe SSDs, Killer DoubleShot Pro, and up to 64GB of RAM. The company says that the PC is ideal for gaming with graphic-intensive AAA titles and live streaming.

In addition, the Helios 500 houses two of Acer’s proprietary AeroBlade 3D metal fans that dispense the heat quickly and simultaneously distribute cool air to the machine components. Users can control and customise fan speed using the PredatorSense app. The app also throws options to control and monitor the notebook’s vitals from one central interface, including overclocking, lighting, hotkeys, temperature, and fan control.

Other notable features on the laptop include dual Thunderbolt 3 ports, backlit RGB keyboard, HDMI 2.0 ports, and two speakers and a subwoofer tuned with Acer TrueHarmony and Waves MAXXAudio technology. Further, the anti-ghosting technology on the Predator Helios 600 provides the control for executing complex commands and combos, which can be setup via five dedicated programmable keys.

Acer has priced its Predator Helios 500 Intel i9 model at Rs 2,49,999 in India and the Intel i7 variant at Rs 1,99,999. Both the models are already available for sale at Acer malls and exclusive online retail partners across the country. The company hasn’t divulged any information about the price and availability of AMD Ryzen 7 variant of the Helios 500.
