Apple iPhone 2018 allegedly spotted on Geekbench browser with iOS 12 and 4GB RAM

“The Geekbench listing of the alleged iPhone 2018 reveals an improved score compared to last year’s iPhone X”

There have been several reports in the past about Apple’s plan to unveil three iPhone this year – 5.8-inch OLED, 6.5-inch OLED, and 6.1-inch TFT LCD. These smartphones have been part of several leaks in the past including 6.1-inch leaked images and dummy models of all three. Now, one of these three smartphones have been spotted on the popular benchmarking website, Geekbench with an improved processor compared to last year’s iPhone X (review).

iPhone 11 (1)

In the latest listing, we can see that the new iPhone 2018 will boot the latest iOS 12 as expected and is powered by a D321AP processor. The processor definitely is an upgrade over the Apple A11 Bionic SoC on iPhone X, which has the model number D22AP. Further, the new iPhone 2018 is spotted with 4GB RAM as compared to 3GB on the last year’s iPhone. The upgrade is also visible in the benchmarking score as the new listing scored 4,673 in single core test and 10,912 in multi-core test. In comparison, the iPhone X scored 4,239 and 10,018, respectively.

The model number seen on the Geekbench is iPhone11,2, hinting at the fact that the new iPhone might be called iPhone 11 after all. However, Apple has a tendency to keep the naming under wraps and there have been speculations that this year’s iPhones could also be called iPhone X (2018) and iPhone X Plus. Therefore, we suggest taking this bit of information with a pinch of salt. The Geekbench listing doesn’t reveal anything further about the upcoming iPhone, or even which iPhone it is.

Apple is expected to launch the upcoming iPhones as usual around September. We will bring you more updates as and when they turn up, so stay tuned.
