Lava Z61 with 5.45-inch HD+ display and Android Oreo launched for Rs 5,750

The domestic smartphone manufacturer Lava hasn’t launched many smartphones this year. After the release of the Lava Z50, which is an Android Oreo (Go edition) phone, the company launched the Lava Z91 smartphone in the country. Today, the vendor has expanded its range of Z series offerings in India with the unveiling of the Lava Z61.

The latest Lava smartphone comes as a budget device that boots Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition out of the box. The phone sports a 5.45-inch HD+ IPS display with a 2.5D curved glass on top and an aspect ratio of 18:9. A 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6739WA processor keeps the phone alive, aided by paltry 1GB of RAM. The storage capacity on board is 16GB, while a 3,000mAh battery keeps the handset running. The camera features include an 8MP autofocus rear snapper and a 5MP front shooter. The brand also announced a 2GB RAM variant with standard Android 8.1 Oreo, which will go on sale later in the country.

The lava Z61 has been priced at Rs 5,750 and will be available via major brick and mortar stores across the country in black and gold colours. The 2GB RAM variant will go on sale in India starting August 2018 and the pricing of the same will be announced closer to the launch date.
