Nokia 6.1 Plus user guide, Indian SAR details spotted on official website, launch imminent

HMD Global recently launched the global version of its Nokia X6 (first impression), the Nokia 6.1 Plus, in Hong Kong. The country became the first market outside China to receive the smartphone. Now, reports are that the company is gearing up to launch the Android One-powered Nokia 6.1 Plus in India as well. While the company is yet to say anything about it, the device’s user guide has been spotted on the official Indian website along with Indian SAR details.

According to the source, the user guide for the Nokia 6.1 Plus, complete with the Indian SAR information, looks “correct and valid.” It suggests that HMD Global could be planning for Nokia 6.1 Plus’ launch in India sooner than expected. Meanwhile, the same source earlier claimed (based on the references in retail) that the Nokia 6.1 Plus could launch in the country sometime in August or September.

If so, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is expected to fill the gap between the Nokia 6.1 and the Nokia 7 Plus; both launched earlier this year. The handset comes with a 5.8-inch FHD+ notched-display with 19:9 aspect ratio, allowing for screen real-estate to its users. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 636 chipset, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. For photography, the 6.1 Plus features dual-rear cameras with a 16MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor. The front camera is a 16MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture and AI support.

The phone comes running on stock-Android Oreo out of the box, with regular updates for three-years from Google. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C. The rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 3,060mAh battery with fast charging support complete the Nokia 6.1 Plus specs sheet.
