Nokia 6.1 Plus spotted on Geekbench website ahead of July 19 launch

The Nokia X6 (first impressions), HMD Global’s first attempt at the notch display, was launched in China earlier this year. There have been lots of talks regarding its global launch with Juho Sarvikas CPO, HMD Global hinting towards the same. The smartphone finally got a global launch date – July 19th according to a report from a major Korean publication. Now, ahead of the launch, the handset has been spotted on the popular benchmarking website, Geekbench.
The Geekbench listing of the handset is seen carrying the moniker of ‘HMD Global Nokia 6.1 Plus’, which is the global name for the Nokia X6. The handset is seen with a spec sheet that is identical to its China-exclusive variant. In the listing, we can see that the handset will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset, 4GB RAM, and Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. The phone scored 1,332 points on the single-core test and 4,903 points in the multi-core test. This scoring is in line with what is to be expected from a Snapdragon 636 chipset powered smartphone.
Since Nokia 6.1 Plus happens to be the global variant of the Nokia X6, we can expect the phone to come with a 5.8-inch display with a full HD+ screen resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio for the notch on top. In China, the handset is being offered in three configurations – 4GB RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM + 64GB storage. As for the imaging, the Nokia X6 comes with 16MP + 5MP dual camera module on the rear and 16MP selfie shooter. The handset boots stock Android 8.1 Oreo and offer fingerprint scanner with face unlock for security. A 3,060mAh battery completes the spec sheet of the handset.
