Nokia launches X6’s global version Nokia 6.1 Plus in Hong Kong

Earlier this year, HMD Global announced the Nokia X6 (first impression) in China and today it has launched the phone’s global version called the Nokia 6.1 Plus in Hong Kong. As expected, the handset is an Android One phone, which means it will continue to receive support and timely updates from Google for the next three years. Probably, that’s the only major difference one is going to spot between the Nokia X6 and 6.1 Plus.

Talking about the specs, the Nokia 6.1 Plus sports a 5.8-inch full-HD+ (1080×2280 pixels) display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 for protection and 19:9 aspect ratio. An octa-core Snapdragon 636 mobile chipset is ticking at its core, paired with 4GB of RAM. The Nokia 6.1 Plus is offered in one variant and features 64GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable via microSD card (up to 400GB).

The rear-panel of the phone is home to a fingerprint sensor and a dual rear camera setup. For camera module on rear consists of a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary monochrome sensor with LED flash. The front camera on the device is a 16-megapixel shooter with f/2.0 aperture and some AI features such as optimised colour contrast, depth of field, and face recognition. The phone’s camera app also integrates HDR and Bothie feature.

The phone is backed by 3060mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.

The Nokia 6.1 Plus’ price is set at HKD 2,288 (~ Rs. 20,100) and it’ll be available for sale in the country from July 24 onwards. The phone comes in blue and white colour variants. HMD Global will soon launch the Nokia 6.1 Plus in Taiwan and other markets including India as well.
