Nokia X5 with 5.86-inch HD+ display and dual rear cameras goes official

Earlier, Nokia had sent out a teaser image confirming a launch event to be held on July 11th, where the brand was expected to unveil the oft-rumoured X5. Although the launch didn’t take place and was rescheduled for today. And as expected, the handset maker has introduced the much-anticipated smartphone in China today.

The Nokia X5 comes with a 5.86-inch display with a resolution of 1,520 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. Similar to the X6, it has a cut-out on the top of the screen, which houses the earpiece, selfie camera and an array of sensors. Inside the smartphone ticks the MediaTek Helio P60 chipset. The handset is made available in two configurations – 3GB RAM+ 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. For security, Nokia’s latest comes with rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock.

Moving on to the imaging department, the brand has equipped the Nokia X5 with a dual-camera module on the rear panel. The setup comprises a 13-megapixel primary camera accompanied by a secondary 5-megapixel shooter and LED flash. For selfies, the phone gets an 8-megapixel camera on the front. As is the case with its brethren, the Nokia X5 also comes as an Android One smartphone and boots stock Android 8.1 Oreo. A 3,000mAh battery powers the handset.

The 3GB variant of the Nokia X5 retails for RMB 999 (~Rs 10,200), whereas the 4GB RAM variant will set you back by RMB 1,399 (~Rs 14,200). The smartphone will be available to purchase in three colour options of black, Baltic Sea and Glacier White. There’s no word if the phone will be going on sale in other regions, though the rumours strongly suggest so. We’ll update you as soon as we hear anything officially, so stay tuned.
