OnePlus 6 Red Edition goes official, available from July 16th at Rs 39,999

Earlier this year in May, OnePlus launched its latest flagship smartphone called the OnePlus 6 (review) in India. The phone arrived in three colour variants – limited edition Silk White, Mirror Black, and Midnight Black. Now, the brand has introduced the OnePlus 6 Red Edition in the country.

The new OnePlus 6 Red Edition sports an amber-like finish that’s being touted to be created through expert craftsmanship and material design. The latest variant features a metallic red shimmer coupled with the red, mirror-like fingerprint scanner that contrasts with the silver camera lens touch. The new model has been priced at Rs 39,999, and will be available in the country starting July 16th. The OnePlus 6 Red Edition will only be available in 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage variant.

Apart from the new colour, the rest of the specifications of the new OnePlus 6 Red Edition are the same as its earlier variants. The phone flaunts a notched display and a premium glass sandwich design, and gets a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. You get minimal bezels on the front and an aspect ratio of 19:9 with the latest OnePlus flagship. Software-wise, the handset boots OxygenOS based on Android Oreo out of the box.

The OnePlus 6 flaunts a 6.28-inch AMOLED display bearing a resolution of 2,280 x 1,080 pixels. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. The phone’s regular variants come in two RAM and storage configurations – 6GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB. At the rear, you get a dual 16MP + 20MP camera setup, and on the front, there’s a 16MP selfie snapper. A 3,300mAh battery with Dash Charging support complete the phone’s list of specifications.

Apart from introducing the new OnePlus 6 Red Edition, the company has also revealed that it has sold one million units of the OnePlus 6 in within 22 days of launch. The OnePlus 6 has become the fastest selling phone in the company’s history.
