OPPO PAHM00 with Snapdragon 820 and 835 SoCs spotted on Geekbench; could be the toned-down variants of the Find X?

“The OPPO PAHM00 is being rumoured to be the affordable variant of the brand’s recently-launched Find X flagship”

OPPO recently launched its most innovative smartphone – the Find X (first impressions), which comes with a motorised panel to hide cameras and an all-glass design. However, it seems that the brand is also working on a toned-down variant(s) of the flagship. The smartphone with model number PAHM00 has been doing the rounds of the Internet for a while now and has now popped up on Geekbench.

The PAHM00 has been spotted with the MSM8996 chipset, which is 2015’s flagship chip from Qualcomm, better known as Snapdragon 820. The SoC is coupled with 6GB of RAM. The handset is seen running Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. The phone managed to score 1,597 in single-core test and 3,351 in multi-core test. This is quite interesting since the same model number has been spotted a month ago on the same benchmarking website with Snapdragon 835, 8GB RAM and Android 8.1 Oreo. These raise two speculations – either OPPO is working on two different variants of the Find X or the brand might be testing out different configurations before settling upon the final spec sheet.

Speaking of the Find X, the smartphone comes with a 6.42-inch 19.5:9 OLED full HD+ display with a slide-out section on top hiding the camera modules and 3D face unlock system. The phone’s performance is driven by top-of-the-line 2.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. The chipset is further backed by 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage depending on the variant. The smartphone offers 16MP + 20MP shooter on the back and a 25MP selfie camera. It boots Android Oreo-based ColorOS 5.1 out of the box and is fuelled by a 3,730mAh battery with VOOC fast charging support. We can expect the Lite variant to retain most of these specs except for several under the hood changes like a slower processor as seen on Geekbench and lower RAM + storage configuration.

However, as of now, nothing concrete is known about the upcoming variant(s) of the Find X, or even the fact that the brand is working on them. We will bring you more information as and when they turn up, so stay tuned.
