Samsung’s foldable Galaxy X smartphone could flaunt a curved battery of up to 6,000mAh
“Samsung is expected to launch its first foldable smartphone at some point in 2019”
Several reports since last year have been suggesting that Samsung is working on a foldable smartphone. The company reportedly showcased a prototype of its foldable smartphone at this year’s CES in January. The brand is expected to unveil its first foldable smartphone at some point in 2019. Now a fresh report suggests that the South Korean tech giant is leading the race of foldable devices with the development of a curved battery that it can manufacture in large numbers.

According to a report by IT Home, Samsung has figured out a way to produce large-capacity curved batteries for foldable smartphones. These batteries are said to be able to store between 3,000mAh and 6,000mAh of power. If the report is correct, this is an impressive achievement for the brand from the 210mAh flexible power cell design, which its Samsung SDI subsidiary managed to create four years ago.
While it’s not clear how much battery capacity Samsung’s foldable smartphone will arrive with. Though we’re hoping it to as large as possible, as the huge screen on the phone is said to have 7.3-inch size when opened and 4.5-inch when folded. If the reports are to be believed, the Galaxy X will go into mass production this summer, given there aren’t any production issues.
