The Snapdragon 845 is the latest and greatest from the chipmaker that uses second-generation 10nm fabrication process, third-gen aI capabilities, and promises to offer a good balance between performance and battery efficiency. Even though we saw the SD845-based smartphones in February, it’s only recently that we’re seeing handsets powered by the most powerful chip from Qualcomm. OnePlus is known to employ the Qualcomm’s top-end processor for its offerings, so it’s no surprise that the OnePlus 6 was the first Snapdragon 845-powered handset in India. The flagship comes with a 6.28-inch AMOLED display with a full HD+ resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio to house the notch. The brand is offering the handset in three RAM and storage configurations – 6GB + 64GB, 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. In the camera department, the OnePlus 6 comes with 16MP + 20MP rear cameras and a 16MP selfie shooter. The phone boots Android Oreo-based Oxygen OS and is powered by a 3,300mAh battery. As far as the pricing is concerned, it starts at Rs 34,999 and goes all the way up to Rs 43,999 for the top-most variant.

With the ZenFone 5Z, ASUS is aiming to replace the OnePlus 6 as the de facto flagship killer. The handset comes with a 6.2-inch full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. Similar to the OP6, the Taiwanese brand’s offering sports 6GB or 8GB RAM along with 64GB / 128GB and 256GB storage, respectively. The rear panel houses dual cameras on the rear, comprising 12MP + 8MP sensors, while there’s an 8MP shooter on the front. The smartphone boots Android Oreo out of the box and comes with AI features like smart charging, Optiflex, and more. Powering the smartphone is a 3,300mAh battery. While the spec sheet is almost identical to the OnePlus 6, the ZenFone 5Z gets an edge with its aggressive pricing, which starts from Rs 29,999.

If ASUS and OnePlus are trying to capture the price-conscious crowd, OPPO pulled out all stops to offer a high-end flagship. Thanks to its stealth cameras, the Find X offers a never-heard-before screen-to-body ratio of 93.8 percent. The smartphone comes with a 6.42-inch 19.5:9 OLED full HD+ display. Under the hood, the Snapdragon 845 chip works in tandem with 8GB of RAM. The handset flaunts 16MP + 20MP cameras at the back and 25MP selfie shooter, both hidden in a motorised module up top that pops up when needed. The handset boots Android Oreo-based ColorOS 5.1 and is powered by a 3,730mAh battery.

Just like the Find X, the NEX aims to take us closer to the all-screen future. Along with offering an elevating front camera, Vivo’s latest also packs a powerful spec sheet. The handset comes with a 6.59-inch Ultra FullView full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19.3:9 and an under-display fingerprint scanner. The performance of the handset is handled by the Snapdragon 845, which is backed by 8GB of RAM. There’s a dual 12MP + 5MP camera module at the rear, and an 8-megapixel elevating selfie camera on the top, which raises itself when needed. The handset boots Android 8.1 Oreo and is powered by a 4,000mAh battery. The smartphone is yet to be launched in India but the brand has announced that it will arrive on July 19th.
