Huawei Mate 20 Lite images allegedly leaked; reveals notch display and dual rear cameras

Huawei is likely to launch the all-new Mate 20 series of smartphones later this year. Going by the previous years, the lineup potentially includes the Mate 20, Mate 20 Lite and Mate 20 Pro. The devices have been doing the rounds on the internet quite frequently. Most recently, the specifications of the upcoming handsets got leaked via a firmware file, followed by the TENAA listing of the Mate 20 Lite. Now, images of the alleged Mate 20 Lite have surfaced online, giving us a peek at its design before the launch.

As per the images, the Huawei Mate 20 Lite will sport a notched display. The cut-out seems to feature dual selfie shooters and an earpiece, just like the recently launched Huawei Nova 3i. As for the rear, the phone is likely to get dual cameras and fingerprint sensor, all stacked vertically in a strip. The edges at the back seem to be curved to improve ergonomics. While the images further reveal the handset in Black and Gold colour variants, the leak doesn’t reveal its specs.

However, earlier leaks and rumours suggest that the Mate 20 Lite will feature a 6.3-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. The handset is expected to be equipped with a 2.2GHz octa-core Kirin 710 processor, which is paired with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. For photography, the rear cameras are expected to host 20MP + 2MP sensors, while a 24-megapixel shooter and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor are expected to adorn the front. As for the software, Huawei’s Mate 20 Lite could run latest Android P-based EMUI 9 out of the box. A 3,650mAh battery is expected to keep things running.

Huawei is yet to confirm if and when it is planning to launch the Mate 20 Lite along with its other siblings. However, rumours are the phones could see the light of day as early as September.
