“There will reportedly be a dual-SIM variants of the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Plus”

In a matter of days, we are likely to see the birth of new iPhones at the forthcoming Apple event on September 12th. Rumour mill has been churning out details about the handsets day in and day out. Now, a latest report suggests that the cheapest iPhone of 2018 will be called iPhone XC. The information came from Weibo — the Twitter of China, where a leak showed an alleged slide from an internal presentation at China Mobile, one of the largest iPhone carriers worldwide.

As per the leak, the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone model will get the ‘XC’ moniker, whereas the 6.5-inch OLED iPhone will be called ‘iPhone XS Plus‘ and the 5.8-inch iPhone X (review) successor, iPhone XS. Interestingly, the report counters earlier rumours that the top-end Apple smartphone will be called the iPhone XS Max. The image also revealed that the iPhone XS-series could have dual-SIM variants, which is on the lines of previous reports.

The still from the presentation slide further reveals the price information about the smartphones. It says that the iPhone XC will retail at RMB 5,888 (~ Rs 62,000), the iPhone XS at RMB 7,388 (~ Rs 78,000) and the iPhone XS Plus at RMB 8,388 (~ Rs 88,000). Most likely, these could be the prices of base variants of each model.

In related news, Nodus — a prominent case maker, has unveiled the cases and back covers of the upcoming iPhones. While the brand will use the same naming convention for the top iPhone models as mentioned above, it’ll call the entry-level LCD iPhone variant as iPhone 9. However, there’s nothing certain as of now so we’ll just have to wait and see how things turn out.

Moreover, another leak on Slashleak has revealed the box content and variants of the alleged iPhone XS. It claims that the iPhone XS will come in two storage variants of 64GB and 256GB, just like last year, and its retail box will include the handset, EarPods with Lightning Connector, Lightning to USB Cable and USB Power Adapter.
