nubia Z18 with a 6-inch waterdrop display and Snapdragon 845 SoC goes official

Chinese handset maker, nubia, had recently teased that the much-anticipated flagship – Z18, will be launched on September 5th. The smartphone has been spotted a number of times in the recent past, including a partial real-life image, alleged hands-on images and a Geekbench listing. Now, as expected, the brand has put all speculations to rest by launching the handset on its home soil.

Speaking of the Z18, the latest flagship comes with an all-new Full-Screen Design 3.0, which refers to the waterdrop notch on top of the display. As for the display, the handset is said to come with a 6-inch Full HD+ display, with the notch housing the selfie camera. On the performance front, the smartphone comes with the high-end Snapdragon 845 chipset ticking at its core. nubia is offering the Z18 in two RAM and storage configurations: 6GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB. For security, the handset offers a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Coming to the imaging department, the nubia Z18 comes with a dual camera module on the rear panel accompanied by an LED flash. The setup comprises of a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 24-megapixel secondary shooter with f/1.6 aperture lens, OIS and AI scene detection feature. As for selfies and video calling, there is an 8-megapixel snapper on the front. On the software front, the smartphone boots Android 8.1 Oreo-based Nubia UI 6.0 out of the box. As for the power requirements, the handset comes with a 3,450mAh battery with Neocharge 2.5 technology. Talking about connectivity, the phone offers 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C.

nubia is offering the Z18 flagship in two hues including black and red. The base variant of the handset will set you back by RMB 2,799 (~Rs 29,400), while the top-end model costs RMB 3299 (~ Rs 34,600). The company has also announced a special Starry Night variant of the nubia Z18, and it’s priced at RMB 3,599 (~Rs 37,800).
