Huawei DUB-LX3 smartphone with 3,900mAh battery gets FCC certification; could be the Y7 Prime (2019)
“Huawei is expected to launch a successor to the Y7 Prime 2018”
Huawei has launched a number of new Mate and Y series smartphones this year. While the Mate series handsets are high-end offerings, the Y series devices from the brand cater the budget buyers. In the Y series, the brand launched a couple of phones this year like the Huawei Y7 Prime (2018) and Y9 (2019). Now it looks like the company is working on yet another Y range smartphone. Ahead of the official announcement, a new Huawei device has been certified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
The upcoming Huawei handset has been certified by FCC under the model number “DUB-LX3”. While the certification hasn’t revealed the name of the smartphone, it is expected to be the upcoming Huawei Y7 Prime (2019), the successor to the 2018 model of the same handset. The listing on FCC has also revealed that this particular smartphone will come with a beefy 3,900mAh battery. Notably, the original Y7 Prime series offering arrived with a 4,000mAh battery, while its successor offers a much smaller 3,000mAh power cell. Sadly, no other details regarding the Huawei DUB-LX3 were revealed by the certification.
It’s worth mentioning that the recently launched Huawei Y9 2019 carries a similar model number as the newly discovered handset. The former’s model number is “JKM-LX 1/ 2/ 3”. So it’s quite possible that the new phone on FCC (DUB-LX3) could just be a variant of the Y9 2019. However, none of this is officially confirmed at the moment, so take this speculation with a pinch of salt for now.
