Xbox One to receive mouse and keyboard support starting November 14
“Microsoft made several important announcements at the X018 gaming event”
This has now become a festive season to remember for console gamers as Microsoft has finally announced that the Xbox One is set to receive support for mouse and keyboard starting November 14th. As you might have guessed, Fortnite is among the first few games that will support these gaming accessories on the Xbox One. Further, the company has stressed that the best experience with this support will be offered by keyboards and mice that are labelled ‘Designed for Xbox’.
For the uninitiated, over the years, PC gamers have taken pride over the fact that consoles do not feature support for mouse and keyboard, rendering them inferior to PCs for first-person shooter games specifically. This has also been a major reason why cross-platform gaming was not considered to be a serious thing till just this year. However, things have changed drastically in 2018 as Sony announced that Fortnite will support cross-platform play on its console as well.
In September this year, Microsoft shared that the brand will be introducing the support for mice and keyboard on the Xbox One. Now, the official support will be rolled out later this week.
Apart from this major announcement, the brand also shared at its X018 event that the popular first-person shooter game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) is also coming to Xbox Game Pass, a service that offers over 100 games for a monthly subscription fee from the company.
Finally, Microsoft has also launched the Xbox Game Pass app on both iOS and Android. This app allows the service users to browse and download game titles on their Xbox consoles remotely with the app. The companion app is already available from App Store and the Google Play store.
“We are also excited to continue to expand and diversify the Xbox Game Pass catalog by making the popular blockbuster title PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) available to all members beginning on November 12. In addition, Thief of Thieves is officially available on Xbox One and in Xbox Game Pass starting today and we’re bringing Agents of Mayhem, MXGP3 and Thomas Was Alone to you starting on November 22,” the company said in a blog post.
