Xiaomi India sends out media invite for a November 22nd event; Redmi Note 6 Pro expected

Xiaomi launched the successor to its Redmi Note 5 Pro (review) –  Redmi Note 6 Pro, a couple of months ago in Thailand. There were tons of speculations regarding the India launch of the handset including an event teaser and a leak revealing the Indian variants as well as colour options. Now, the brand has sent out the official media invite for a new product launch in India and Redmi Note 6 Pro is expected to be launched.

Xiaomi has sent out a media invite for an event to be held in New Delhi on November 22nd. The image used in the media invite is pretty suggestive of what to expect at the upcoming event. The text on the image reads, ‘THE NEW NOTE RISES’ with a circular constellation resembling a camera sensor with number ‘6’ in the middle. We can also see the silhouette of the top portion of a smartphone display with a notch. The picture couldn’t be more indicative of what’s coming. We can definitely expect the Redmi Note 6 Pro to launch in India next week.

To recap on the specifications of the handset, the Redmi Note 6 Pro ships with a 6.24-inch full HD+ display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC at its core. A recent leak has revealed that the smartphone will be launched in two configurations in India – 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 64GB. In the imaging department, the smartphone has 20MP + 2MP setup on the front and 12MP + 5MP combination at the rear. The phone boots MIUI 9.6 based on Android Oreo out of the box and is powered by a beefy 4,000mAh battery. Basically the Redmi Note 6 Pro is a Redmi Note 5 Pro with dual front cameras and a display notch.

As of now, there is no word on the pricing and availability of the upcoming smartphone in India as of now. We will bring you more accurate details on November 22nd, if indeed the brand is planning to launch Redmi Note 6 Pro on that day.
