Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 Forbidden City limited edition to go on sale in December

Chinese handset maker, Xiaomi launched the Mi Mix 3 flagship smartphone last month in China. While the flagship comes as one of the most anticipated smartphone with a manual sliding design and top-notch specs, it was the Forbidden City Special Edition that had everyone’s attention. The special edition comes with 10-gigs of RAM and a unique colourway with gold inlay. Now, Xiaomi has officially announced that the smartphone will go on sale in December.

While the handset maker has announced that the Mi Mix 3 is coming next month, the brand didn’t reveal the exact date. Further, the phone maker has also announced a program, wherein users can participate in the testing of the handset. Notably, the Mi Mix 3 Forbidden City Special Edition has been jointly designed by Xiaomi and the Palace Museum in Chin. The all-ceramic smartphone comes in a unique blue hue, which is the same colour as the ceramics of the Palace Museum. Further, the handset features Chinese mythical beast in gold inlay called Xie Zhi. According to Chinese mythology, Xie Zhi can distinguish between integrity and evil, and is regarded as a sacred animal.

To recall on the spec sheet, the smartphone comes with a 6.39-inch AMOLED display bearing a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and 93.4 percent screen to body ratio. Powering the handset is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, which is mated to 10-gigs of RAM and 256GB storage. oftware-wise, the handset boots Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI ROM out of the box with support for Google ARCore and AI voice assistant. In the imaging department, the smartphone comes with a pair of 12-megapixel shooters on the back and a 24-megapixel selfie snapper aided by 2-megapixel depth sensor in the sliding mechanism. The smartphone is powered by a 3,200mAh battery that supports wireless charging, and the company will be shipping a free 10W wireless charger with the device. 

As for the pricing, the Mi Mix 3 Forbidden City Special Edition bears a price tag of RMB 4,999, which is roughly Rs 50,200.
