“The Xiaomi Mi Play has been spotted on the official site in 6GB + 64GB as well as 6GB + 128GB variants”
For those unaware, Xiaomi launched its debut Play series smartphone – Mi Play in China couple of days ago. While the smartphone was the first from the brand to come with notch and the world’s first to feature the Helio P30 SoC, Xiaomi launched it in only a single configuration: 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. However, according to a new leak, two more variants of the Mi Play are in offing.
According to the new report, the source code of the Mi Play purchase page reveals that there are two more variants in the works. Both the variants will come with 6GB RAM, with storage options being 64GB and 128GB. Further, the source code also reveals the price of Mi Play’s upcoming variants. The Mi Play price for the 6GB + 64GB version is shown to be RMB 1,299 (~Rs 13,200), while the 6GB + 128GB option will cost RMB 1,599 (~Rs 16,200). While the leak doesn’t reveal any other details of the new variants, we expect the rest of the specifications to be the same as base variant of the Mi Play.
To recap, the Xiaomi Mi Play comes with a 5.84-inch display with full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,280 pixel) resolution with 19:9 aspect ratio and a waterdrop-style notch. The performance department is being handled by MediaTek’s latest 2.3GHz Helio P35 chipset. The onboard storage can be further expanded using a microSD card. In the imaging department, the Mi Play comes with a 12-megapixel + 2-megapixel setup on the rear panel and an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front. The smartphone is powered by a 3,000mAh battery and boots Android Oreo-based MIUI 10 out of the box.
Xiaomi is offering the Mi Play in China in three hues – Black, Dream Blue, and Dawn Gold. The smartphone comes with a sticker price of RMB 1,099 (~Rs 11,000) and is presently on pre-orders.
