[CES 2019]: Razer announces Blade 15 Advanced with Nvidia RTX 2080 and all-new Raptor gaming display
The Razer Blade 15 gaming laptop has received a refresh at CES 2019 and is now available with the latest Nvidia RTX 20XX series GPUs. Razer is calling this laptop as the Blade 15 Advanced and it will go on sale on January 29. Apart from upgrading the laptop, the gaming company also announced a brand new product, the Razer Raptor gaming display.
Razer Blade 15 Advanced
The new Advanced model looks identical to the Razer Blade 15 from last year. The only major upgrade is the inclusion of the new RTX 20 series GPU from Nvidia, which were also announced recently at CES 2019. Apart from that, the laptop also comes with the support for Windows Hello with the addition of an IR camera. This will allow users to login via facial recognition. Razer has also included a new 1080P display option with 144Hz of refresh rate.
The laptop can be configured with either the RTX 2060, RTX 2070 Max-Q or the RTX 2080 Max-Q graphics. All variants of the Blade 15 Advanced will ship with the 8th-generation Intel i7-8750H processor, up to 64GB of DDR4 dual-channel RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. You can also opt for a 4K touchscreen display. The Razer Blade 15 Advanced will be available for purchase from January 29th and prices start at $2,299 (~Rs 1,60,600).
Razer Raptor 27-inch Display
Razer also entered in to a brand new category at CES 2019 by announcing the Raptor 27-inch gaming display. The 27-inch panel has a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 and offers a refresh rate of 144Hz. It also boasts a 1ms response time for Motion Blur and 7ms of standard response rate. The display has a maximum brightness of 420 nits, supports HDR content and AMD’s FreeSync. It currently does not support Nvidia G-Sync, but Razer said that it is working on it.
The design of the Razer Raptor display is pretty slick. It features thin bezels and aluminium construction with a fabric-induced metal backplate. The display also has a hinge that can be tilted to 90 degrees. This allows for improved cable management via provided slots. Razer also includes green flat cables with the monitor, one each for HDMI, Power, USB-C, Display Port, and USB-A. The display also features Chroma LED strip on the bottom.
The Razer Raptor will be available for purchase later this year for $699 (~Rs 48,800).
