Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 gets Bluetooth certification ahead of launch
“The Redmi Note 7 is expected to be a mid-range offering with a Snapdragon 660 SoC and Android Pie”
Just a few months ago, Xiaomi unveiled its latest Redmi Note series smartphone called the Redmi Note 6 Pro in Thailand. In November, the company launched the handset in India. Now it looks like the Chinese electronics conglomerate is all set to launch the successor to the Redmi Note 6 Pro soon. Ahead of the unveiling, the alleged Redmi Note 7 was recently spotted on the Chinese certification agency TENAA’s website. Now, the smartphone has been certified by Bluetooth SIG.

On Bluetooth SIG’s website, the Redmi Note 7 has been certified under two model numbers
M1901F7G and M1901F7H. The device has received the certification with MIUI 10, but there’s no word regarding its Android version at the moment. However, it is likely to be Android 9.0 Pie. The certification also reveals that the Redmi Note 7 will offer Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity option, just like its predecessor. Sadly, the listing on Bluetooth SIG’s website hasn’t revealed anything else regarding the handset.
Notably, the Redmi Note 7 was recently spotted on the benchmarking website Geekbench. The device was spotted on the benchmarks with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and 6GB of RAM. The phone was benchmarked running Android 9 Pie. As per the certification on TENAA, the smartphone could come with a 6.3-inch display and a beefy 3,900mAh battery. The photos from TENAA suggested that the device will come in a gradient colour option, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a dual primary camera setup.
It’s worth mentioning that Xiaomi is all set to spin its Redmi line-up into a separate, independent brand at an event in China tomorrow. At the event, the brand will launch a phone with a 48MP dual primary camera setup at the rear. While the phone maker hasn’t revealed the name of the device, it is expected to be called either the Redmi X or Redmi Pro 2. However, it’s not clear if Xiaomi will be releasing the Redmi 7 or Redmi Note 7 at that event. We will update you on the matter as soon as we learn anything, so stay tuned.
